Years Of Superior Service

Trans-Continental Systems, Inc. began operation in Cincinnati, Ohio in May 1984. Our initial focus was the transportation of intermodal traffic via the Chicago, Illinois rail ramps. Later that same year we expanded our operations to include the Cincinnati, Ohio ramps. Due to our growth in the Chicago market we opened our first office in Chicago in the summer of 1990.

Due to a strong intermodal market, we continued our growth by adding intermodal operations in Oakland and Los Angeles, California. Strategically this enabled us to gain stronger control of our equipment to better serve our customer base in the Midwest.

Because of a growing shortage of owner operators, we committed to the development of our private fleet. A $3 million acquisition of tractors and trailers launched this new endeavor in 1992. Continued success and growth led to two major expansions in 1997 – the purchase of our trucking terminal in Glenwood, Illinois resulting in an extensive renovation in excess of $1.5 million, and the inception of our over the road division formed to provide our customers with an alternative to intermodal service and increase our capability to serve the growing demands of JIT transportation.

We continued to expand and diversify in 1999 by opening our Memphis, Tennessee terminal and offering LTL service to and from Detroit, Cincinnati, and Chicago.

Trans-Continental's mission is to perform our service with integrity and to provide quality based transportation solutions that focus on promoting our customers' short and long-term goals.
